This should be on your dumping grounds. As is, it's not really good. Your character's hit detection is poor, You fall through platforms every time you jump and there's no way for you to actually win. You're going to need to put a lot more work into this before it's good enough for the main portal. Best thing for you to do is submit it through your Dumping grounds and get some advice before a full submission. Good luck and happy programming!

This was alright. Your music and graphics were decent and the plot was good. My only complaint is the controls. Would be a lot better if instead of O and P as you steering that you use the arrow keys. Other than that, it was ok.

The controls thing is something one or two people mentioned during testing, but I had a real issue with the cursor keys being held down and other key presses not being recognised :-/ I just couldn't solve it, hence went with my old favoured Amstrad CPC464 key combination.
Perhaps I'll look into getting those darned cursor keys working as well as the current config.

Keep your betas and tests to your dumping grounds. as is, it's not a game at all. Besides that, why do you have to use sonic? Aren't you creative enough to have your own character?

This game doesn't feel completed. Your upgrade menu has no choices for weaponry. Only a health upgrade. At first I thought it might have been a one time glitch, but it seems that it wasn't coded right. Some other problems I saw was that there's no sound effects at all. It's weird playing a game in pure silence. You could add some good fight music or even simple sounds when fighting your enemies. All in all, it needs quite a bit of work. Good luck.

Honestly, It didn't play too well. I got the phrase "Raaaggeee" About six times in a row. It still feels a lot like the last one. There's no way for the game to know if you even put in an effort to draw and gives you points. And again. There's no way to compare and contrast with other artists on the game. This seems like a good potential typed game for a sort of MMO typed game where you could compete with other artists and have judges. You do have potential with these games but as is they just feel like a simple time waster. I also found a bug that manipulates the score. If you right click and hit play, it boosts your score considerably. (Do it while drawing.) Better luck next time.

Thanks for the review! I just uploaded a patch that will no longer ever give you the same phrase two times in a row. Thanks for your other suggestions as well, I'll looking into adding them in a future patch.

decent graphics and alright music. I noticed a few glitches on the spike levels. if you die but complete the level, you don't have to redo the level.

To have to log in to play wasn't nessisary. after playing for a few minutes, my computer slowed down to a crawl. Not very fair. If you're going to make a game, don't require us to log in.

your art is good. The music is alright. It's just that there isn't much else to it. You can't lose the game at all. Given that this is your first game, it's alright. It's just lacking. You need much more than what you've got. (And again, I know it's your first game.)
Give it some more effort (Maybe a story line or a few levels where you have to pick appropriate clothes) And really have some fun with it. Good luck!

Thank you! Yeah, I know it's not that great. I'm actually working on a bigger project right now and did this sort of as a side thing I wanted to try. I just wanted to get my feet wet a bit. I plan on making a more complex game later, maybe a squeal to this with a bit more to it. Also, I'm still learning coding, so things like levels I'm not too sure how to do right now. Thank you for your comments though!

This dosen't feel ready. The graphics are simplistic, the music and SFX are alright but there wasn't enough to have a good playable game. It really needs some work before a real submission. Especially the boss fight. Much of the text was unreadable. All in all, it didn't feel finished. Good luck on working on this one. with some time and effort, it's got potential.

Thank you for the review, I'm trying to find improvement areas, and these make it easier.

The text is a bit difficult, because on the one hand I want it to fit the graphics style (A medium between 8 and 16 bit is how I like to think of it), but on the other it needs to be clear.

The graphics are simplistic for the simple reason that I can't draw and can't pay an artist. However, I'm trying to improve bit by bit. Try out the earlier ones and you'll see the improvement.

The boss fight, I admit, was little more than an experiment to see if I could create a 'Phased' boss battle. I shall ensure that the World 2 boss uses this to better effect.

I can understand it not feeling finished. I have alot left to do. There are alot of worlds left to add, and things to tweak. I'm polishing it as I go along.

This is, regrettably, the best version I can put onto Newgrounds (the file is huge) so all future versions will be on interestinghappenings.co.uk.
